Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

It's simple

The longer you've been here, the bigger the chance you'll be kicked out. They'll mix in some newer employees to protect themselves legally, but we all know who the main focus will be.

If you were hired during the pandemic when the market was crazy high, you’re more likely to be cut.

Disagree with the theory of cost savings by getting rid of those who have been in for a long time. New hires make more often startling out than folks who have been around because getting a raise is near impossible. Cisco hires high and then just holds and maintains the employee with options at same salary. People are so happy they don’t get culled the lack of raise goes to the wayside.

No more experienced people left to teach the new folk. Probably not going to end well. Best of luck with this strategy.

Not sure how long this strategy will hold though? New hires are getting 6 figure starting salaries so will be more expensive than experienced counterparts without the actual experience in the not too distant future?
