@6xpj+1tTdCSW9 I worked for the last 4 CEOs JB, HA, RF, and now TBD. By far the worst CEO we ever had and HA laid off 500 in one day… not to mention countless who relocated to Charlotte from NYC and were laid off after moving there when its office opened up between JB and HA. Which totally see happening again this time and would hate being relocated to TX and having to find work there shortly after.

I worked at TIAA when Herb was there, and when Roger was there. Company business practices notwithstanding, both were masterful orators on the financial markets and the economy. With all the current news out regarding TIAA, I've been looking for similar demonstrations of expertise by the current CEO on Youtube and other online financial publications but I can't find any. Everything sounds like it could be from Kiplinger's Personal Finance (at best). Am I missing something?

She is on vacation for a MONTH... come on. At $20 Mil a year and the state of the company she should be there to at least pretend to care. When is the last time YOU took a month off (and I am guessing you don't make $20M). When you have a big job you do the big things, even when they are not pleasant (or PR opportunities). The fact that she has gone all over the country collecting awards for HERSELF, on company time and money, and left the company in ruins says it all. Dear Board, because I know you are reading this - how much more proof do you need that T has to go before she completely tanks the company?

@2azc+1tTdCSW9 your comment is ridiculous. No CEO of a company the size of ours is ever truly on vacation and out of the pocket. She is the boss of 15,000 people and a multi-trillion dollar company. she could be zooming from Paris or anywhere else on the earth to deliver some sort of message, but to be completely AWOL is very suspicious.

For what it’s worth - I get the complaints on where she is with all the bad press and as an associate impacted by the news this week and will likely get some angry posts back or be downvoted but whatevs… hear me out.

With all due respect - she is on vacation.

I for one would want my vacation whether it is one day or three weeks (or even parental leave) to be uninterrupted by work related things. TIAA associates have long been known to be “out of pocket” and called or checking email when on vacation.

That mindset of having to be connected even when you are supposed to be out of office - has ki-led our people leaders and individual contributors at all levels for decades. No wonder why everyone in this company gets burnout.

Let the woman finish her time off as you would and should expect the same when on PTO. You know she will address these things when she returns to office.

Is T in the recording studio working on our next song?

And I say that because TIAA is facing massive adversity on all fronts. This is NOT a situation for a first time rookie CEO with more social media savvy than business acumen.

My gut tells me she’s been sidelined but is still on the payroll until they can figure out a mutually beneficial story to spin it.

She’s on a month long vacation until mid August (not a joke). She’ll be back. No where else will she get paid $18M to do nothing. Would you leave?

my gut tells me she’s hunkering down with attorneys negotiating an exit package with the board and will leave with a huge sum of money and accept no responsibility for anything that has happened.

This is all so very odd that she’s MIA at a time like this. Someone said she’s going to resign soon. Hopefully that’s true because TIAA under this “leadership” is a sinking ship. TIAATANIC!

She’s too busy posting on Instagram and deleting comments on her posts.

Yes TIAA pays T at least $20mil+ to hopefully show up to things, but she won’t forget to point out DE&I related comments/topics/changes

T thinks we’re d-mb enough to think that if she delegates to her underlying’s, then she’s not to be blamed for her decision

TIAA pays her 20+ million and she can’t show up? TIAA pays her 20+ million and she can’t get on a zoom call? TIAA pays her 20+ million to not write emails? TIAA pays her 20+ million to do what? Someone please tell me what she does for TIAA.
