Central Europe Refinery Work Experience

Does anyone have first hand information on work environment and culture differences between Antwerp and Rotterdam refineries. If you could choose which site woud you prefer to work at. I may have a choice as to where I end up so looking for any tips.

Rotterdam is more open and welcoming than Antwerp. It's also the #1 asset in Europe now.

Both are better than the rest of Europe as far as I'm concerned.

Between the 2 it depends a bit on the group / department. The sites are more or less operated as 1 and some specialties have moved to Rotterdam while others are primarily in Antwerp.

As an "outsider" I think Rotterdam may be the safer bet. Antwerp has very few non-locals and they have a history (albeit dated examples) of tanking outsiders in ranking.

On another note: Rotterdam is having some reorgs following the recent TA (the org chart was frozen prior to that) so things are likely to be in flux until 2025 I reckon. Antwerp had theirs last year so they already moved past that.
