Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Lumen Bad Decisions

We all know Lumen SLT has made very bad decisions for a long time, but job numbers were dismal thanks to the idi-its in the Whitehouse, and Lumen will likely need to make more cuts because that's the chatter going around the office. Why did Lumen make bad deal with Azure? Oracle's new "OCI" is 2-5x faster than AWS, Azure, and GCP, and OCI is less expensive. Lumen can't make any good decisions. Stock tanking again in what will become next recession. Can Lumen even survive in a recession?

It seems like they Kate was talking about the 4th Industrial Revolution, the White House too. Is this going to happen or is it 100 years away. Seems like they are in fantasy land.

They are hyping the $5 bln dollar deal for networking, but not saying over how many years it will be. If that $5 bln is over 5 years, that is $1bln/year in sales. Possibly another $7bln on top, which would make for a total of about $2.2bln in revenue per year - but only after they have constructed even more fiber than they have now (meaning, much more upfront expense). https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ai-demand-drives-5-billion-201000035.html
