What is with the rumor of Austin closure? It's a busy building right? But is the property worth more as well since Austin is booming and they could get an actual profit on it? Would fully remote ppl be in trouble if A has layoffs?

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
So you saying rumor is true?
squirrel found the nut and cracked it?

Oh is that the plan?
Fake news
The plan for Austin is a sell-lease-back of the campus. But only leasing back a fraction of the space, for a limited time.
Space and people are both less expensive in other places.
Austin ,Dallas have housing bubble.
either Schwab sells the place , some more cut coming on the way
I’m w LPL now. They just opened an Arizona campus. Don’t see Austin real estate acquisitions. Also, they seem to embrace WFH instead of running away from it.

The plan is to sell the campus. Lease back a portion, lay off some, and let some WFH.
A no-brainer actually. Does not make sense to have people come into work, and sit in Teams calls all day. Austin is too expensive for that
No one on this site knows what they’re talking about.
Right? These fools been here spreading rumors about supposed layoffs for years.
Schwab went to Austin to attract talent - now they are paying the price - way over crowded and the cost of living is up as well as the office space - no wonder they want to sell

I can’t see them closing Omaha either. Large site, they own the building and I can’t imagine they’d be able to sell it.
The Austin campus is definitely on the list for divestment!
Austin has become a very expensive city to operate and recruit in these days.
Buying new coffee machines is not an indication that the Austin office is here to stay! LOL!
Maybe selling but not closing. Lots of companies get out of the real estate business.. sell and then lease back from the purchaser...
Not even a possibility.
LPL is trolling rn
LPL could't afford it and has no interest in another hq in Austen.
LPL is buying the Austin campus
Someone said there is another office building and that is the one closing and will be moving those people to Gracy Farms.
Three locations that would never close are Austin, Westlake, Denver, and Phoenix/Chandler.
Denver need to be closed, it is Mini India (at least on tech side).
Rather paying $$$ , move to India give then ₹₹₹₹.
Why are there so many comments about it? To start rumors?
I can't stand the cheap coffee and the sugar filled sh---y snacks.
Sounds like nonsense. Three locations that would never close are Austin, Westlake, Denver, and Phoenix/Chandler. Ok more than three. I could see what is left of SF closing and smaller footpints from TDA.
I keep seeing ppl mention an Austin closure. I dont it
They just opened a 3rd building, they signed a contract with a new company to manage the cafeteria, and they installed coffee stations in every breakroom. Doesn't seem like something you woulld do if you were shutting down.
