Gary tasked to implement long overdue reorg and reduce headcount inline with declining revenues

It definitely seems like Gary is being groomed to take on a future C-level role at Cisco.
Is J2 sitting in on every decision Cisco is making like Gary is said to be?
between some posters have said previously:
|Why would Gary allow Cisco to purchase Splunk at 28 BILLION when the CSCO stock |price has not moved since the acquisition?
|
| Think about it. If you're a CEO of a major tech company with hundreds of millions in |equity, and another major company approaches to acquire you, wouldn't you want to |either:
|Sell at an insanely high price and then leave
|Stay onboard in a strategic position and have influence or control over decisions that |can lead to a significant increase in value for the acquiring company
|I think Gary is playing the long game here, and it will benefit CSCO shareholders in |time.

It's my guess CR is planning to step down and GS will take the reins in the next 1-2 quarters.
Disclaimer: I am not an insider nor am I employed at Cisco. Just speculating from the sidelines

How much you want to bet the next GS becomes Cisco's new CEO in 12 months or less?
Would be nice if Cisco announced Chuck is gone on the earnings call to show solidarity with the 10,000 employee LR announcement
Gary's has spent his short time here picking groups to either be sold or LR'd to reduce headcount by 50%
"Splunkers that know Gary best"
he was there for like 18 months and his only action was to sell the company, nobody there "knows" him
he was not loved at proofpoint.
Splunkers that know Gary best saying that he believes Cisco must cut 50% of workforce over next 24 months through a combination of layoffs and selling off non relevant BU's
LOL that Chuck is transitioning Fran to an SE
Chuck is having Gary take the PR hit for this round of LR's
Chuck will announce on the earnings call.
Unlike his tech CEO peers, Chuckster is no longer invited to industry tech conferences

Where does it show Gary is on retainer?
Is there a source for this claim?
LOL, Gary is playing the long game? He’s on retainer for about 2-3 years, then he’ll bounce because he doesn’t need the money.
Chuck like Biden is in…….until he’s out. 😂
It does seem like Gary is playing the long game, and is putting himself in position to replace Chuck.
Gary came into splunk and instituted span of controls for managing direct reports, cut costs in every area he could, did multiple layoffs, turned splunk slightly cash flow positive and then sold to Cisco.
It’s pretty apparent the Splunk board brought in Gary specifically to sell to Cisco.
I thought he would bounce too, but once he became 2nd in command at Cisco it’s clear there is a long game here. So perhaps step one was to splunk to cisco, then step two is to replace Chuck with someone more competent.
Why would Gary allow Cisco to purchase Splunk at 28 BILLION when the CSCO stock price has not moved since the acquisition?

Prove me wrong or prove me right, I don't care! Just my wild speculation.
Chuck is home in Atlanta cutting and pasting Intel's 15K layoff announcement so he and Gary are ready in a few weeks
Maybe Chuck is hanging out with Joe figuring out how to prop up K.
CSCO's P/E is pretty nice tho, you gotta admit.
CR moved from HQ, that is not a coincidence.
CR moved to Atlanta for cheaper property, lower cost of living, and to be able to play more golf cheaply. It was a financial decision. Like they all are.
Reminder that Chuckie paid $28B in cash for Splunk and Gary got a nice chunk of that
Cisco now in debt when it used to brag about having zero debt
Be prepared for 0% bonus and 15% staff reduction
Are they quietly re-arranging the deck chairs? Does anything change or it is ELT politics as usual at Cisco?
Can't imagine GS agreed to let Cisco acquire Splunk without some assurance his share equity (now Cisco) value would be run into the ground.

Fluff? BS? Perhaps. Couldn't help but think about the recent Gary AMA and CR's MIA.
Earnings call may be interesting.
CR moved from HQ, that is not a coincidence.
Stock will pop 10-20% when wall street gets the Chuck news
Expect CR being put out to pasture announcement on earnings call
At last, a grown up in charge. His Ask Me Anything (AMA) was so refreshing and honest. Focus on customers, sales and TAC. Felt like the old days with JC :-)
Usually when the ELT goes quiet, it means a change of guard is quietly in the works.
Not saying that is what is happening, don't claim to be an insider or have any info.
Just interesting CR has been quiet.
Yeah there’s a reason why old Chuckie moved to Georgia. Better golf courses out there.
CR is mia to protect his role and team. Let the others below f this up, blame and LR them when is doesn't work out.
Chuck is done with the day to day operations as we saw with him sending Fran to a government tech meeting in DC while he just focuses on photo ops with celebrities
Hearing the same from my friends that left Cisco to join Splunk and are now back again
