Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Poor Quality

My 2008 and 2016 had zero body issues. Had the 2008 for 16 years. My 2024 came with front bumper separation from grill. Rear door misaligned. Ge-z. Now I used FORscan to disable engine auto start/stop. It turns the battery warning on permanently! Great. Had to reverse it. This is my last Ford! Fire the ceo.

Testing is essential to product development. What happens to the data and how the fixes are achieved is also critical. Since FOMOCO has become a company that prizes its business degreed bean counters more than its engineers, recalls have increased while quality and morale have fallen off the edge. Not all products pass the testing phase. When it is found that more investment is required the bean counters get involved and either the test requirements are reduced by stating that it's not like that in the "real world" or just look the other way. It's all about short term goals, and looking good to their bosses. The result is what we see today, low quality and recalls.

@1dav+1tJ3OyvZ I don't care what b Ford's testing says. It's the same testing that has resulted in being #1 in recalls.

I personally know people with S/S that are on their 3rd and 4th starters.

Common sense tells you that it wears out your starter faster. Anyone that argues otherwise is just not very bright.

A little pricy, but worked like a charm on our 2024 Edge.

“Just use the start/stop, it saves fuel and the environment.”

LOL. This is the same left that tells us stop having children to save on fuel and save the environment.

I have a button on my 2021 f150 that disables start/stop. I use it every time I get into the truck. Isn’t that option available on other vehicles?

Stop start does not harm the bearings. Ford ran hundreds of hours on dyno testing with the low viscosity used oil.

But I still hate it.

Internal engine components are designed to run with oil pressure. Constant cycling at 0 psi should be a concern of everyone with start/stop. I turn it off every time. The consumer always pays the price for government mandates and corporate shenanigans. Don't be fooled by the hype...

@zqm, it does not burn out your starter. They were redesigned to last much much longer, it is probably the part of your car that will last longest now.

Good luck with the quality from the Big 3. These cars a made for a purpose, for them to fail and to keep the repair shops in business. This is why I don't own any of the big 3 vehicles.
