Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Time and attendance abusers

  1. If they callout sick alot, have them go to a urgent care near the store for approval to come back to work. Not a "doctor" of the tms choice.
  2. If they callout for car problems alot , have a licensed car mechanic shop get a proof of "repair" on the car.

Who cares? It’s a retail job if you are shorted staffed don’t pick up the slack when people call out.

Whole Foods does not pay enough to afford a medical copay or car repairs. Doesn't even pay enough to afford a car (or even rent). Even if someone was actually sick doesn't mean they are so sick they have to go to the doctor. The work is so physically demanding that you have to be in top shape to do the job. Even a day's pay (after taxes) will barely pay for an uber or lyft. A lot of Whole Foods neighborhoods are not even safe for public transportation.

Even leadership comes in late and calls out and most of the time and when they do come in they just sit in the office and relax. So easy for them to complain about employees not working until they drop de@d. If employees were treated better or working conditions were better, people would show up more.

I have certain people that call out a lot on my team and leaves us short. Of course it's BS but that's just the nature of working at Whole Foods. If they fire the current people, the next batch will just exhibit the same behavior. What is mind boggling is Whole Foods expects employees to give up their lives for the job and work whatever inconsistent hours assigned to them.
