I respect the autoworker and the union but what is the purpose of said union if the workers are still abused 60-70 hours a week? It plantation time just in a different form. My partner said 12 hour-6 days next week is coming BEFORE a switch Sunday night to 3 shifts (the shift they’re going to)’

You’re missing the point. Actions solve these kind of problems and actions are limited to what we have control over. Bi--hing and name calling on the web solves nothing. A small hand full of traits separates successful people from others and one of those traits is attitude.

Just makes no sense that when they walk into work it’s listed as 9 hours but an hour later it’s switched to 11. Yet first barely did 8. How do they determine need? Bunch of BS. Three shifts can’t come fast enough. No need for the excessive OT then.

Wouldn’t surprise if they do. First shift works less than second on a daily basis and when the switch comes to 3 shifts, there’s no lunch break. It’s a straight 8 with three little breaks.

Those are a lot of hours but imo that’s isn’t plantation life nor the employers fault. The worker is free to quit and find a different job at any time. If there really is any form of slavery, imo, we have enslaved ourselves to consumerism and have to go into the grind for all of those hours to pay for debt. Point being is pay down debt, forget keeping up with the Joneses and live a simpler life.
