Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Recharge Day?

For those of you who saw this... what's up with this random extra PTO day ("Recharge Day")?
It seems oddly timed and even stranger that it has to be used before end of October...
What game are they playing?

When Xerox offers you something prepare for the worst ..Every so called benefit comes with a price to the worker bees. Historically layoffs always seem to follow.

It's a trap to see who really wants to work, and those who will take any excuse to get out of work. I need my job.

I fully intend to leave my recharge day unused.

can you explain more? Was this affecting hourly workers?

The extra day off is in response to the disastrous deployment of how to report time off and working hours on a recent holiday. I think it was problematic on Memorial Day and against policy / bordering illegal on Independence Day.

To improve good will to those wronged an extra day off was offered. But it has to be used in 3Q so if it impacts 3Q reports, decisions can be made by leadership to reduce impact on 4Q/EOY reports.

Just my opinion.

The October deadline is confusing... if giving an extra day of pto... why put a deadline on it... and why end of october?

Breaking news... all employees donate their days off to Stevie B and the clappettes provided they take them immediately and have no communication or decision making capability while on leave. We expect them back in 2079

WOW! You're doing the work of 2-3 people and still sticking around getting a single paycheck. Congratulations for keeping the company running. Anyone reading this who works at Xerox should thank you.

one day "off" doesn't mean much when people are doing the job of 2-3 thanks to layoffs How long is the recharge going to last when you return to a crumbling company and a massive workload. Steve john and hr patting thmselves on the back though. we did it we improved mirale!

The extra day foreshadowed today’s disastrous earnings report. It means this:
Over the next three months we are going to lay off more people… the schlubs that remain will be given more workload than they could ever have imagined … and the company can say “take the day off” ….but on this instance … you take the day off … the workload burden just increases in fact you’ll likely get calls on your new day off as to fix whatever the fire drill of the day is: pricing due in 24 hours that’s taken months to figure out, service emergencies that somehow you’ll get called for, billing and value quix issues, operational ball drops and on and on and on it goes ….enjoy your day off !!!!!!

A gift certificate to a PTSD remediation center would be better than a single day off

For those of us not at Xerox anymore, is this another vacation day you can use when you want, or a fixed day everybody takes off?

Trying boost employee morale. "Here, take an extra day off". The October date is odd but it is another day. The individuals set to lay off post knowledge transfer will be using this day sooner than later.
