Working for another company with an Avaya like situation - Advice on what happens next

Hello everyone,

I currently work for a company going through some similar situations that Avaya has dealt with in the past. The company will most likely file for chapter 11, executives have lined some pockets with "retention bonuses" and layoffs have consistently occurred. From your experiences I am wondering what happens next.

More massive layoffs, no pay raises, etc. Also I am wondering if anyone has had any decent experiences post restructuring and stayed with the company to their benefit.

Thanks

Avaya may not be typical, but they are far from unique in treating employees, customers and suppliers like cr-p. As any ship goes down, the lifeboats fill up fast, and not with steerage.

I agree with the post above. I have been doing consulting from the very beginning, and I have never seen a company act like Avaya. My advice to you is to get your resume out there while you still have a way to pay your bills. The minute you get a chance, jump. Once your company shows you who they are, the writing is on the wall.

Trust me when I say you aren't working for a company "going through some similar situations as Avaya". Avaya is an outlier in every sense of the word. Avaya has treated it's employees in the worst way imaginable. Misled and lied to at every turn. It would be in-conceivable that anyone remaining would have any trust in the leadership at this point, I'm sure the customer base has taken notice of this too. This company is in it's final death throes.
