Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Advice to Nielsen owners (5 step turnaround plan)

  1. Fire all toxic US management. Do not pay them a severance. Get rid of racists.
  2. Pay for performance. Lower all pay of Nielsen executives and top officers to state or federal minimum wage. Pay per profit percentage. Example if Nielsen after expenses earns 300 million for the quarter, the CEO gets 2%. The higher the more money made for the CEO. COO can get 0.5%, etc. There is no reason to pay top executives millions in salary. Make them earn minimum wage and bonus off of profits minus expenses.
  3. Eliminate HR and use Chat GPT because Chat GPT won't protect racist managers.
  4. Outsource all jobs that do not require US talent.
  5. License patents to competitors. Competition is good for the industry. In 5 years, lay everyone off and eventually turn Nielsen into a shell company that holds patents with no more than 10 employees for administration and billing. The royalties will pay Elliott Investment Management and in 20-50 years, they will make back their 16 billion dollar investment. Let innovative competitors like TV Squared, Comscore and TVision take over. There is no need for Nielsen to continue running a failed business. The patents are valuable so license it out and collect royalties.

"Racist manager promoted" that's got to be the funniest thing I've have heard in a long time! He's a glorified secretary. Hardly a promotion.

South Park always predicts the future. Nothing beats the wisdom of the business plan of the Underpants Gnomes:

  1. Collect underpants.
  2. ?
  3. Profit

Steps 3 and 4 can be switched because I think racist Tate wasn't promoted until sometime after Nielsen lied to the eeoc.

"lmao chatGPT"

Artificial intelligence for HR would be less biased than Nielsen's HR process.

Nielsen's HR process appears to be:

  1. Employee wants to report discrimination and racist manager
  2. protect racist manager and fire employee
  3. promote racist manager

Here's another suggestion that includes addressing management while focusing on innovation:

Streamline Management and Empower Teams: Streamline hierarchical management structures and empower cross-functional teams. Reduce layers of middle management to increase agility and decision-making speed. Implement leadership training programs to cultivate a collaborative and innovative environment at all levels of the organization. By fostering a more agile and empowered workforce, Nielsen can respond more effectively to market changes and client needs, driving innovation and operational efficiency.

re (2 & 4) - that is pretty much what will be happening now - straight-line way to increase % profit - cost reduction / layoffs. The IP/license proposition has been around for decades

Sell off Gracenote asap. WTH, is this 1995? ROFL. Shazam App is tons better.

Wikipedia describes what Gracenote does...

"Gracenote, Inc. is a company and service that provides music, video, and sports metadata and automatic content recognition (ACR) technologies to entertainment services and companies worldwide.[3] Formerly CDDB ("Compact Disc Data Base"), Gracenote maintains and licenses an Internet-accessible database containing information about the contents of audio compact discs and vinyl records. Nielsen and their ratings will go the way of radioshack. Nielsen should scale back and stop fighting against competitors who are more innovative then them. Harness their patents and license them out and profit. Stop giving cr-p data to clients.
