Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

XBS UK offices shut

So all the XBS UK offices are being closed left right and centre. Offices and HQ's shut at Concept and Altodigital with no alternatives other than working from home or leave. so much for a hybrid office. Teams from logistics and warehousing going as well.. last one out please turn off the light

I think the IT XBS reply was regarding is that there is XBS in Britain in response to the "XBS isn’t in the UK lol" comment.

The point being there inded is an XBS presence in England.

its ok saying too many sales and shut the offices down, at some of the branches lots of people were in the office that were not sales... with no offices there is no incentive to keep those jobs uk based and the jobs move to Manilla, Romania or Portugal. so this in turn leads to people we all know losing jobs. Then we we sub Service back out and all builds to DCC and eventually nothing is left in the UK but Salespeople who will happily work from home.

"XBS in UK is the IT side of XBS, not print. It was opened by Rich and Anthony and included a couple of "tuck-in" technology and Managed IT companies"

Not sure what world you live in.., XBS uk is made up off what was the 5 largest independent print copier dealers left in the uk. we do also have IIT services companies and Go inspire but we are from the print world..

Too many sales people hanging out at the office with stupid merchandise collections on their desk. Why wouldn't the company shut it down? Get in your car and sell something, you don't need an office.

This is BS. Any premises will close if it is seriously underutilised. No company can carry empty buildings and all of the UK XBS sites are pretty empty. Wakefield will close at some point. If there is demand for an alternative, right-sized space in a similar location, one will always be provided. Basically, same for any company - use it or lose it folks.

Let me know how the alternative office space search goes.if you really think they will enter into more costs for an office space for a few people i think you might be disappointed. Company cars is next on the list... looking to save every penny they can.

Having an onsite office is a huge cost and overhead.
I’m not sure why it’s not done everywhere.

funny how our current CEO was totally wrong on work from home not being long term and trying to force people back to the office as an example to clients Now he is targeting the same clients with work from home solutions. Steve worth every penny

Quite honestly more companies should offer this if they're dedicated to the green movement (pay more than just lip service). But in this case it is happening because there's no money in the pot.

The OP is close with their comments. Everything here is accurate with exception to the ‘work from
Home or leave part’. Alternative office space is being sought to give employees the option to work from an office if required. Definitely appears that Xerox would rather have people work from home and only work from an office if absolutely necessary. As I say, everything else is pretty much accurate.
