The Mission is so stellar..I like my co workers and boss, but the general environment is depressing..I joined a year ago..insprired by the mission and it was a bigger role for me than what I did in the past..but now feeling dejected. I want to really like Medtronic, but just not able to..

Yes this place su-ks, and if you are minority god bless your soul because they will pretend to like you with DEI propaganda but make you feel you stink like rancid curry…
The mission has become a tool to get employees working harder
Last post is 100% correct. Expect with robot. You do nothing with nothing. Hundred Million of dollars wasted on POS machine that breaks and can only be used for low margin cases.
I’m sure someone here will defend the new indications, expanded market, etc. if that’s case, what’s taking so long? How come ISRG doesn’t run into the same roadblocks as HUGO?
Surgical = do more with less. Except if you are in robotics
Which OUs are being referred to here as positive/negative? Just curious.
My OU has become strictly "make as much profit as possible with less resources." No one here believes in the mission anymore.
I would love to say my OU is moving in a better direction but I would lying and deluding myself. Glad to hear yours is moving in a better direction but I don't know one person I have spoken with or could speak with 1:1 that would say this. A more common theme I hear is I feel trapped and helpless or it is bad and getting worse so I am quietly looking for some where to move too.
@1zba+1t8J3a8g posts a personal observation and has a -5 downvote. I don’t personally share the observation in my OU, but the downvoting tells you a lot about the open mindedness, or lack thereof, on this particular site.
How is your OU leadership? Do they have history with the company and really understand what it’s about or are they recent Geoff hires? If your in an org under his picks I’d encourage you to look around internally for a better group.
I’m not sure how it is in other OUs, but I’ve seen positive change in my OU. Lots of negative posts on this site, as I would expect, but I feel like my OU is moving in the right direction and getting refocused on the mission.
If you are depressed because of work, realize it is not your fault, talk to someone that you trust about it, seek help or get out. Good luck.
Dejected? You must be from India on a VISA working for Medtronic
