All around the world!
I loved NGID. We used to do a beach cleanup that consisted of about 90 minutes in the morning just picking up a few cigarette butts, followed by beers and lunch at a local beach bar on Nielsens tab, and the afternoon off.
"I thought people clocked NGID and got paid for it?"
Yes, I am paid a salary. My point is that NGID is used to distract you from being under paid, and not being paid a merit increase over a period of several years. Make no mistake, there is a cost being paid by the company to host NGID. I'd rather those dollars to be applied to merit increases and bonuses.
I have no idea what the OP is trying to say, perhaps the OP could explain?
I loved volunteering for NGID I work over on the Scarborough side of the business and would grab a few co workers and do meaningful stuff for the community. We all loved it and I hope the next company I work for provides the same
Anyone can volunteer in the US but I think OP is saying that only management will be left in the US soon.
I personally liked being paid to leave the office and the stressful work load to go volunteer somewhere.
God, I hated this thing. This started over a decade ago at Nielsen if I recall. Not that I was against community service or work, but good lord I lived pay check to pay check as a "money maker" yet would be shamed into having to "give back" while I would have to figure out how to eat for the week! Good days...NOT.
"I took this job to get paid. That’s where our company’s focus needs to be"
I thought people clocked NGID and got paid for it?
Are you saying only managers get to volunteer in US of A???? Has it got anything to do with overtime pay? Do managers get OT?
It’s because Nielsen doesn’t care about the United States or its work force. There is just as much need here as there is in other parts of the world. Marginalizing the US will certainly marginalize Nielsen globally.
They should scrap the whole program. I didn’t take this job to volunteer for a few hours and then have a big group lunch. I took this job to get paid. That’s where our company’s focus needs to be.
I hope it stays that way; would be an excellent message to send to our current leaders.
