Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Executive team visits Webster. No news on what's happening with Production.

Our CEO, COO, and other fearless leaders visited Webster yesterday. A lot of us in Production engineering were hoping that there would be some sort of clue as to what will happen to us now that Xerox is exiting the design and manufacturing of our Production equipment. Unfortunately, the speeches were the usual rah-rah about sales, sales and sales. One woman asked a direct question about what will happen to those of us who create hardware products, but Stevie just gave a long-winded answer that said nothing.

The COO claimed that he did not want to do any more layoffs after the March reductions, but the company has since chopped people in manufacturing and the SI lab (and I'm sure other places in Webster). He claimed that the bulk of the cuts in March were in upper levels, and they tried to avoid cuts to the people doing the work. But that just doesn't jive with what has actually happened in Webster. He claimed that they didn't want to cut the people turning sc--wdrivers, but we hardly have anyone left turning sc--wdrivers.

Does the company plan to keep those of us in Production by moving us to customization or other groups? Are we just going to get a pink slip as soon as we transition to Fuji products? I think I already know the answer, but it would be awfully nice if we got a straight answer from our "leaders."

"Wonder why Stevey did not mention the news with Tata? More crummy indian development on the way while American jobs go out it will make his July 4th email feel extra special this year "

He only writes the lengthy emails when it's a DEI related holiday/event. 4th of July will be about how America is still learning, we all face challenges still, liberal buzzwords, enjoy your time off and sell some products at your bbq.

CEO agenda: Visit plant that is shutting down. Name sports team that isn't in the same area. Talk about growth while company shrinks. Become confused when employees know you're bullshtting them. Cheer at the end.

"The majority of the cuts occurred on Leap Day, February 29th."

Except for the next round. Follow the revenue.

"one of the strangest townhall meetings I have ever attended"
It started out on an off note when Steve B. started talking about the New England Patriots and got booed. Doesn't he know that Rochester is in Buffalo Bills territory and is no where close to New England? Doesn't he know that coming to a site that is currently shrinking and talking about "growth" is just out of touch? We were in the Gil Hatch Center surrounded by all of the Production machines that we used to make while they glossed over that we are shutting down the design and manufacturing of all these machines.

I retired years ago and spent a good portion of time on the production side. If you are still supporting/developing/building for production, it's probably a good time to use your connections in the company to move to another group.

I think this is the statement:

SteveB is blindly steering a sinking ship, he should be fired and John B appointed CEO. At least John have a clue as to what to do. Proof will be in execution.

Steve is the worst CEO ever, at best he should be VP for sc--ws, bokts and boxes in Global Purchasing talking to those vendors.

Beware the c suite onsite rah rah visits. The old SOHO team got that kind of visit, in around 2000 and we're gone in two weeks iirc.

Not much in the way of surprises from this leadership group .....

Every waking moment, SB is hoping to get a call or text saying the company has been sold to whoever. When he's giving long winded talks to factory lady, he's praying to get such good news so he can stop talking to factory lady, grease head, and move on to next position at next company.
