Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Warning about these websites

Keeping it brief, these websites are monitored and internally they do follow up with people who spread the rumors in real life. Watch yourself

Yes, the site might be monitored but there's nothing they can do about it. As long as you don't post from your work devices they can't figure out who you are and as long as you stay within the legal realm you're good. Companies can ask to remove stuff that breaks the rules, which usually includes threats, personal insults, slander, and names or any other personal info, but that's it. This is not unique to this site, this is true for all social media. I don't understand why you feel the need to spread paranoia.

When is everyone going to realize DEI values have no place in hiring decisions. It’s just reverse discrimination.

@ 2gmp+1t5E3z8L - the house is burning down and your concern is why didn’t they get a DEI firefighter to rescue you? Maybe the white guy was the best qualified guy, that thought ever cross your mind? Guess it’s ok to question how a white fit gets hired but racist to question anyone else? YOU are exactly the problem with DEI. Thanks for making the point for everyone!

I would love them try to approach me and try to restrain me to from posting here. Would sue them for violating my rights to discuss work conditions with my coworkers.

NLRA protected speech, by which:

  • Employees are allowed to discuss their wages and work conditions with their peers;
  • Employers are prohibited from interfering with, restraining, or coercing their workforce in exercising these rights.

2gmp....Could be a lot of reasons. Maybe the EC doesn't really care anymore for some reason? Maybe the people calling the shots before have had some of their privileges and job functions taken away? Maybe the white guy is just an interim placeholder until they find a person with more equitable anatomy and melanin levels?

I can tell you from experience that whatever comes out in a press release is usually guaranteed to NOT be even half the real story.

why did T replace Nuveen’s CEO with a white male? The prior CEO was Latino. Seems like our company is going backwards in terms of our DEI values.

TIAA’s culture is client obsessed. We champion our people. We lead with integrity. We own it and we win as one.

It must be true. It’s on our web site and the world’s most ethical company for seven years running would not gaslight us like that if it weren’t true.

A lion does not concern himself with the flies. Ask yourself who are the lions here and who are the flies.

Keeping it brief, it’s easier to pull others down for speaking the truth than it is to pull yourself up and fix the real problems you’ve created TIAA! Putting this sort of threat out only highlights how weak and lost you really are.

I know of a great cost cutting opportunity- cut HR by 90%. Oh wait they are the only org that never decreases.

OP is just warning about snitches in the company. HR is conducting investigations (based on tips) to find the people who are leaking information about the confidential projects. The warning comes from the fact that people have been pulled into meetings with HR to be disciplined and/or fired for spreading this information.

HR might not want to dig too hard though. They might find that some of these facts get leaked by people at the highest levels. Its strange to think that not everyone agrees with T, even those she hired. HR might also find that the witch-hunt they are conducting leads right back to their own department.

Maybe instead of policing people, they should consider what style of administration forces people to turn to anonymous methods of communication. Why is this underground community thriving when there's so much "open and honest" communication from TIAA?

The OP is not wrong. I will leave it at that.

Wow OP.. how much is T / HR paying you for that comment.

With the antiquated technology TIAA has it is surprising they can function to barely stay afloat, let alone monitor this and other anon websites like they are the FBI or something… They can’t even monitor badge ins properly or have a decent desk booking site, let alone police the internet for negative comments.

To come after posters here (many are former employees)? WTF they gonna do, move our remaining retirement funds into that “hotel California” of TIAA traditional? Rescind our layoff package for any that got one?

They would be better off just having a town hall and say here is our plan and squash or bring truth to the rumors. The grapevines and rumor mills have been going on since the 80s and before that I’m sure.

This site is basically the same as the water cooler talk, which got a lot more vocalized in the office than when everyone was working from home. If T didn’t want us to talk why bring everyone back in office???

And many of the people posting aren't even employees anymore....if you are stupid enough to use your company equipment then yes you might get in some trouble

OP your attempt to spread fear is futile. We know that nothing said here can be used against employees.

Found the exec/HR trying to spread fear. While yes, the execs are not happy about them they cannot do anything if you post on an external device. Don't post from your corporate devices and they cannot do anything.
