Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco is just managing its decline

Anyone with any clue as to what is happening in the tech industry knows Cisco is just managing its decline.

However, that doesn't preclude Cisco from being extremely profitable for senior executives. This is why they can still get people to sign up for senior executive jobs that have no chance of improving the outlook for the company - because it greatly improves the outlook for their personal investment portfolio.

These mercenary senior executives hang on for as long as they can because of their compensation and their perks which have little to no correlation to their performance. Chuck needs people willing to play a performative role, and he rewards them for that.

I was reading the board while musing over changing the job, and came across this piece which says it all (@4kai+1sSUXSq5).

This post is certainly one of the most practical posts I have seen in years regarding Cisco. Link executive compensation to true performance for share holders? What a radical thought. Sad that it takes some semi-anonymous poster to make such a statement that is obvious, simple and sadly unusual.

Instead of what this post advocates, we truly have executive managing a cash cow in decline. They will milk that cow for everything they can get out of her until the cow falls over and dies.

This is just legal grifting.

Glad I have sold all my shares a long time ago.

I’m usually a critic of Cisco and I agree that from a position of market leader it has fallen to market follower. However I am keeping a close eye on Acacia. Not a bargain buy especially as the price virtually doubled by the time it went through. However for AI and all the social media to work you need optics and a lot of it. Acacia are leading the way. It won’t be a saviour but maybe it’s best to build from your core strength. My point here is what will provide a better return Acacia or Splunk, just a thought.

What a place of waste csco has turned into. chuck has been a dismal failure for $500M. The only benefactors are the dei smag, the mentally unstable or delusional crowd that the company protects, and mgmt down to sr director. Better do your Christmas shopping now while you have a job because the excr-ment will be hitting the oscillator wide open at that point for this pig. But hey, be he/him/her/it/newt/ameba. That helps drive sales said no customer ever. I'm also sure that "cisco is an AI leader" will never be said either. Anyone thinking otherwise is stunted severely.
