If you want to know when layoffs are going to happen at Greenville, just look to see when the theater conference room is reserved by HR. They reserve it weeks out.

I left. Thank God! But I also snagged a coworker to come join me. I'm trying for someone else. Hopefully that's three. Yess sir. That's how it's done ---

"So, be smart. Get a job locked in. Tell NO ONE. Quietly clean up your personal property on Friday and start your new job on Monday."

Write them off.
Forget them.
Move on.

First: The company is under no obligation to let you know in advance of a layoff. If they give severance pay, they are off the hook as far as WARN notices are concerned because the penalty is usually a week's pay for every year of service. By offering a severance, they have "pre-paid" the penalty.
Second: You are under NO legal obligation to give notice. That's right. You can bail any time you want without telling anyone. The company must pay you for every hour worked up until you leave. So, be smart. Get a job locked in. Tell NO ONE. Quietly clean up your personal property on Friday and start your new job on Monday. As far as your I.D. badge, just drop it in a mailbox. If you have to sign anything or be debriefed, let them mail it to you. Don't even answer the phone if they call you.
Write them off.
Forget them.
Move on.
Have a good life.

I cant believe this web site censors the word eediyot (when spelled correctly that is). Makes it hard to talk about senior management.

We got our notice in March and April. Now we just hang out, or bail out

Start putting your resume out. Better to leave first.

how much longer are you going to allow this ridiculous company to ruin your life? If you stay waiting for things to change, you're an id--t.

Would be nice wouldn't it? It felt like with the last RIF it was to appease the shareholders more than anything. Across the board 5% isn't really targeted or thought out. More of like an oh sh-t, gotta keep the stock up so I can buy my next yacht, kind of move. I makes the C-suite seem like out of touch id--ts.

Which, yeah, they are.
