Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Equity Honors COO of the Year

Did you hear the news? Diddy’s right hand man DF was given an award by the National minority supplier development Council for being the most #antiwhite CAO it appears. He couldn’t be on hand to accept this prestigious honor so another
Didn’t
Earn
It hire was sent to accept it.

Keep up the great work TIAA as your 100 year old company circles the drain with the S&P at all time highs.

As a former employee, I am shocked by the bigoted tone expressed by some commenters who profess a desire to return to past company administrations. I myself come from a multi-ethnic/multi-racial background and some of the threads deriding DE&I are just plain racist. Truly unfortunate.

The fact is, as a company that supports emplyees of non-profits, this strategy does not work in a profit oriented business world, and can't compete with the large financial institutions who are constantly investing in technology. this did not start with the current leadership. Once I experienced TIAA's technology, I realized there was no competition. Why did'nt the company invest in technology in support of enhancing the products and services?

When you can’t actually run a company on real business strategies to obtain real business outcomes, then you hang your hat on DE&I. Sad that so many people don’t recognize how they are being used and their own accomplishments being cheapened as a result. Prior leadership was diverse and actually qualified and effective. Now 100+ years of history has been flushed down the drain by people who offer nothing beyond diversity. But hey, at least we all feel good about virtue signaling.

Why do you automatically assume it’s white people? Isn’t that racist of you? Could be Latino people, Asain people, Middle Eastern people, or even black people. Colored folks support trump too.

This thread is trash. Has nothing to do with anything except a place for some white dude trumpers to be racist bigots without repercussions. OP probably don’t even work here… some comments are disgusting.

Wish this thread would get closed.

Show me the executive leadership team of every bank that went under in the past year. Maybe we should pick up some of those qualified white guys lol.

His is hiring is a race issue unfortunately. You think the business manager for the Oak Ridge Boys is getting hired as the CAO? The poor job he has done is not a race issue - that's just plain old incompetence.

If you’re so oppressed why don’t you take your immense talents and go work somewhere else? Unless you’re just as mediocre as every other angry white person with an opinion.

Best to stick to doing whatever you do :)

Of all of T's EC hires, what is the value of D. Ferguson? Budget and business case planning remains the same chaotic process...ZERO strategic thinking/direction...

quite frankly, Anne D is the one doing the job and Derek just spins his records and hanging out with Wyclef...

I have to assume he has been less than public, because he is working hard to make sure his paper LOOKS right prior to his appointment to TIAA. Reality is a whole other story. T has surrounded herself with people who will will bow to her "supposed" power.

Why is HR allowing the CAO to be on the EC with the recent raids and horrific videos that are coming out on P.Diddy? Wouldn’t this be a reputational risk? Since he was P.Diddy’s former CFO, it is only a matter of time before subpoenas and the FBI come knocking.

Would any of TIAA’s competitors have Jeffrey Epstein’s CFO on their executive leadership team?

I get the criticism, but it’s not a race issue. The new white execs that are in place are just as entitled and unqualified. Bad hires have been made throughout the executive ranks.
