Working Harder Doesn't Matter if Management Doesn't Like You

If you don't want to wind up the loser in office politics, read The Hatchet Man's Playbook. It's all about the nasty games managers and unscrupulous co-workers play to get ahead and how to beat them. Definitely comes in handy at the Big X.

Management doesn’t even like themselves OR each other. Why in the he-l would you think management has your best interest every year when they are fighting to stay relevant themselves?

HR is lacking in V&V opportunities. Every opportunity should be in open forum.

This is true for any job or career anywhere.

OP I learned that for some managers, it's not about what you do and how much work you actually do but if you volunteer for for all the extras on your own time, you will part of the click and there will be a nice raise for you.
Good luck.
