Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Every new VP that is hired means 15 employees are laid off

Kate Johnson is union busting. Kate Johnson is trying to abandon customers and employees. Dare To Lead has cost how much? It hasn't brought in one customer to our aging network. They even laid off people working in Quantum Fiber, Lumen's hot new product. Lumen pi---d away money with fixed wireless. You cannot cut your way to profitability. At some point Lumen will file for bankruptcy like Frontier and Windstream had to. At the ground floor level, I see no competence coming from senior management. Just pain.

Level 3 did not destroy this company. When they purchased Centurylink that company went down hill from there. Level 3 could've maintained and made money, instead, they allowed Management from Centurylink to place musical chairs and provide nothing but a garbage process and network.

"KJ should probably get rid of all the Level3 folks. "

Yeah, they are the ones that started this mess. Ever go to a old Level3 office? Pictures of employee events, and gatherings, and picnics, and outings. Yeah, that company knew how to build 9 billion in debt and then punt it to Centurylink. What did CenturyLink employees get? Ungatz.

What I hear you saying is that Lumen is no longer the essential backbone it was once
touted to be. This speaks volumes, Lumen is pedaling the belief that Verizon & AT&T have
no interest and no resources to do what they are doing which is "pass the hat" to collect enough change to complete their build out. If it takes them 8 months to a year to complete the build into the cloud would it not take less time for the big Telcos to do
the same thing?

KJ is just trying to fix the mess that Level3 brought in. It's not fixable. KJ should probably get rid of all the Level3 folks. It's that plain-&-simple. Look at the stock price which is very bad and not getting any better and now they want to reverse split it and it will not do well. The only buyout is the one that gets pennies on the dollar because nobody out there is looking at Lumen and saying they want to buy it because it's so great. Lumen performance is horrible. But don't blame it all on KJ. She's barely keeping it above water using some BS tactics like kick the can and hyping the nonsense using PRnewswire. KJ really needs to get rid of everything that is not the core business of Quantum Fiber and Exaswitch, the rest has to be shed off if she wants to save the company for the shareholders.
