I thought that I couldn’t make the salary I made in the oilfield after I was laid off. Turns out I can. I thought that the cost out initiatives and net-zero investment in employees’ personal/professional growth was standard across the board. Turns out it’s not. People, there are companies that care about your efforts and job satisfaction! I probably would have never left if I wasn’t laid off, but getting out of the oilfield is the best thing that could have happened to me. It ain’t like the old days for sure. Keep your options open.

I am not leaving here because I also see the bright "light at the end of the tunnel."

This ship is sinking, it's just a matter of time now. There are other ships in the sea. Jumping ship before it's too late might actually be a good idea. You don't want to "run your race" on this ship only to find yourself in the same situation as Titanic's orchestra. Go run elsewhere before the sh-t storm starts proper! This is just the start
Nice..thank you.
What industry did you change to?
