Medtronic is in a flat spin. Poor results, result in cuts, which results into lost culture, loss of experience, poor morale and stressed out and discouraged employees which lead to poor results which leads to more cuts and round and round we go.
This, right here. Anybody who thinks layoffs are behind us needs to accept that we're now at the stage where layoffs are something that can't be avoided. Sad but true.

I'll only add --- some of the OUs will be broken up and sold --- and some will just shut down completely. Vents, cardiac monitoring, O-arm, visualase. These are done or close to done.
Several things will happen at Medtronic. More of our jobs will be moved offshore and some OUs will be broken up and sold. Finally, GM and the rest of the board will bail with golden parachutes.
