It will be interesting to see after tomorrow how many are taking the VERP. I fear the most talented and knowledgeable people are leaving. It will take many years to recover from this.
Our competition will be able to acquire so much talent.

Who makes the decision to keep someone as ‘essential’ or not.
In my dept all the veterans are taking it. I really don't know how they're going do it. Nobody is going to be held back as "essential ". They say we'll manage. Really? Oh well kiddies , run , run as fast as you can. This thing is going to blow up in they're faces.
What happens if the uptake is greater than expected?
Do they absorb the larger one time cost and celebrate the larger ongoing save?
Based in my sources, uptake of the offer might exceed expected numbers. Ironic that this AIG Next idea may keep many other projects from executing effectively.
Its really sad how things are playing out. I really hope those that leave will make it to our competitors. It's sad to see what this company has become.
