Pearce’s departure timing was done so as to personally avoid accountability and having to be face to face with the multitudes of marketing people that he personally approved and took recommendations from his VPs to make starting later this month.
He did his dirty work and then bailed before having to confront the reality of all of the lives his decisions are going to affect. On top of the many of dozens that he laid off in 2022 and 2023.

Keith didn't drive the bus over the cliff; he may have backseat driven some poor turns along the way. Alteryx is a sales centric company not run by R&D or Marketing roots. The only person that can drive the bus off the cliff is the leader of sales. While Paula is very likeable and she is a "good" leader, her choices and her perceived "great hires" put us at the bottom of the cliff. Don't blame Keith for what happened.
Keith may have been the best CMO of the 6 CMOs that Alteryx has had since IPO. Poor guys was victim of Paula. Not his fault.
It was a matter of time before he was going to get pushed out by PE. He just chose to exit (resign) at a time of his own choosing. But that handwriting was on the wall, no question.
I’m quite sure that pi---l had zero control over his departure timing. The investors eventually put their foot down and did what Mark and Paula should have done 18 months ago but didn’t have the guts to.
