'24 Cost Reduction Initiative & Claims Moving From 28 Liberty to Jersey City

Heard some chatter about claims moving from 28 Liberty to JC or other regional offices. Assuming this is to save on office space? Is AIG trying to reduce their footprint at 28 Liberty?

It's been my experience - twice - that subleasing is only one step in the overall process, the ultimate goal of which is selling the building, i.e., divesting itself entirely from that location.

My understanding is that people are being moved in claims to the office closest to their home within their home state. So if you live in NJ you will be reporting to the Jersey City office. This frees up space in 28 Liberty and the company will be able to sublease out a few floors to save money.

CRBG is completely leaving 28 Liberty at the end of May, with people either relocating to JC or going remote. There will eventually be a new Manhattan office, but will mostly be for Investments people.
