Wow, found out today the new Pelvic Health OU President hire is Emily Elswick, complements from Mr Wall himself.

Nothing against Her, but how does someone with a Journalism degree understand how to run an implantable device business???

Maybe a background in the biosciences, engineering degrees would probably help just a little bit you would think……

The pockets are getting lined with gold at the country club level with no regards for fixing and growing the OUs

This will be the Urban Meyer hire of Medtronic. Like one of the earlier poster said, she is a disaster. Good luck indeed.

I don’t know anything about the new hire’s qualifications, but Karen Parkhill went on record saying, “The medical device industry has many great women in senior levels, but we need more,” she said in a recent episode of the MedtronicTalks podcast. “Where women lead, the world is better off.”

How is someone at the senior leadership level not only allowed to say that, but also have it reiterated in a press release?! That was absolutely s-xist and unfair to our male and non-binary colleagues for a senior leader to make a totally unsupported and divisive claim like that.

Emily is great! Straight from Geoff’s corner office where she absorbed plenty of GE high jinx and Harvard Business Graduate shenanigans.
Within 30 days there will be more DEI initiatives than there are letters and “lean in” opportunities for everyone to join. These are the programs you need to dust yourselves off from the bottom pit of despair that is pelvic health.
Within the next 30 days, half of the remaining salesforce will be quit, in the process of quitting or plain quiet quit.
Then after Q1 dismal results, she will formulate and justify a hiring blitz which would only result in massive layoffs after FY26.

You guys are sc--wed if Emily is your new dear leader. She has a spectacular track record of running businesses units into the ground (see Visualization and Lung Navigation)
