Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Bigger MIP after RIFs?

Now that more of the dead weight is gone I’m hoping our MIP will be >100% for FY24?!? Fingers crossed y’all!! Happy for everyone who is still here.

All I can say is if I get a 60% MIP again I’m leaving Medtronic. I can’t change the results as 1 person, so that’s the unfortunate fact. Tired of leaving $50,000 a year on the table.

ExComm set a dollar amount to how much it need to be cut. They don't care who.

You can complain all you want about what you think ExComm should do. The truth is they don’t care about you anymore than they care about those whose lives were disrupted by RIF. Calling people who were laid off “dead weight” says a lot about you. I know very high performers who were let go. MDT leaders made bad decisions and cutting positions is the only way they know to deal with the fallout. When that happens, you are a number on a spreadsheet, nothing more. Performance has no relevance in creating the list. MDT cares more about preventing law suits by those laid off than about the size of your bonus.

While I understand all of this, the real risk is that more CURRENT employees leave the sinking ship. Leadership should be doing everything they can to retain current talent and lay off underperforming employees. Desperate times call for desperate measures - otherwise entire divisions are going to be sold off with 10,000+ Job losses.

@hxs+1srm2PjG that is who severance and earned bonus payouts are for. Any company does it to try to retain some semblance of morale saying look, if sh-t hits the fan, you are just kicked out with nothing. So make sure to keep working hard and not just start leaving because you don't know if your next paycheck is coming or not.

This topic has been addressed a thousand times. You are a mo--n for not knowing that you get MIP if you leave after fiscal year closed.

@lpy+1srm2PjG You didn’t even get my pronouns right you id--t. No one on my team would be so pathetic to assume I’m a man because I have an opinion.

@lev+1srm2PjG Why don’t we pay the people who worked there 5 years ago then too? Didn’t they accrue some of the success that led to the numbers in FY24? I don’t care about accruals, I care about taking care of existing employees jackwagon!!!

Yeah, I am! Medtronic should be doing everything it can to make the situation better for CURRENT EMPLOYEES. Spending $ on those who have already left is counterproductive.

Found the guy who doesn't understand a single thing about accruals, ye has the nerve to call others dead weight.

Here's a clue - the bonuses were earned last fiscal year, whether you leave on your own or were impacted by the RIF. But I'm sure you're just a troll. Sad.

You're mad that people who worked the entire year just like you did get bonuses?

How would you feel if you were laid off and didn't get it?
