@5dxx+1srK7BHx Is correct about all the activities and timing.

One thing to add is that your Supervisor has already submitted a pre-ranking assessment that places you somewhere on the list, and typically there is not much movement from that pre-ranking slot. Years ago, your pre-ranking was limited in movement from your previous year ranking, but I have heard that “limit” no longer exists.

There is likely a lot of politics involved in that pre rank list. But basically if your Supervisor dislikes you or sees you as a direct competitor, she can drop you in that pre rank list then purposefully downplay you in the 2 minute drill, then downplay any positive comments after the 2 minute drill. Your Supervisor can absolutely make sure she gets you PIP’d.

ranking meetings will be at the end of may. your supervisor will talk for two minutes about you. all the other supervisors will add to this and there is your ranking. HR then comes in and adds or subtracts. It has to fit a somewhat equal distribution of ages, men women, minorities and whites. This could either save you or doom you based on what they need to fill the gaps. I seen old/young white and minority men piped but not so many women of any race piped. get ready for you did a good job but the system picked you for pip. some time in July the rankings will be conveyed. Friday late is usually the day and time for bad news. I know of 5 people that were piped at 3 to 5 pm on Friday in July.

Be alert on when your team has there's. If your seems to take awhile to be scheduled, be concerned. It could be the ole we don't need you any longer talk and here are your options.

I was late July - NSI. Don’t forget the age factor (in addition to race, s-x & “performance” as part of your review.

I’d always ranked well, until I hit 50 and dropped like a 🧱

If PIP, 3 month stint runs from Sept to end of November. If PIL, runs same time frame. You find out results by Thanksgiving. If you don’t pass - they want you OFF the books by the holidays. If PIL, your benefits terminate @ end of November forcing you to take Cobra for a month, unless you find a new job where the benefits immediately kick in.

Bunch of greedy ba----ds, hope they all rot in 🔥

There is no such thing as HR.
True - there are algorithms applied, as everywhere, but they are designed by outside consultants.
Rest assured they are lawyered up.

And anyhow, you are a tiny smidgen of a cog in this machine.
As with CPUs, they will make you smaller and smaller.
How many of you, fellow EMers, can fit on the head of a pin?

HR must apply discrimination in June to achieve target distributions. HR forbids final rank lists to be based solely on performance and applies race and s-x criteria, moving certain individuals up based on those traits instead of their performance.

Somehow the lawyers endorse this.

Please explain how moving a person on a performance ranking, based on that person’s race or gender is legal. Up or down.

Also, not everyone finishes in May: some go into June, and then HR wants to review everything and make final adjustments as well as set up for those who get PIL or PIP.

Them's the general rules - early July.
That way the PiP-passers end 3 month 'severance' period before the books close in November.
Or something likem thet.

July 10. Friday’s don’t matter. I have someone a NSI message on a non-Friday. We mix in regular messages with MLRP messages.

Late June early July typically. Be careful if your boss schedule it on a Friday
