MPC Stance on THC Testing

Based on the employee brief that was sent out on 5/7, how will employees be tested via "reasonable suspicion"?

Are refinery engineers at GBR/GVL considered Non-DOT?

Are they force testing for more than dr-gs? Get it in writing . DNA can be used for all kinds of personal judgments- life insurance ,odds of disease ,AI programs that put one in a category. If they will not grantee legally that it is only just for dr-gs then seek legal advice for options.

10+ year TSO employee (6 month MPC employee) ... I was dr-g tested 3 times as a TSO employee in a span of 10+ years ... once MPC acquired TSO, I was dr-g tested 5 times in a 6 month timeframe. Twice while I was traveling between plants with notification from HR that if I did not return to my office, I would be reported as non-compliant (unbelievable as I could've simply taken the dr-g test at the plant location). Random, I think not even though that's exactly what I was told. I was not an outlier either as many of the legacy TSO folks had focus similarly put upon them. FYI, I've never engaged in any illegal substance nor abused any legal substance ... beware of the motive regarding such policy changes and the way in which they are enforced.

Ask HR and then puff puff pass.

You would probably know if you were because it is a different and more often random testing. In general the DOT regulated positions are either truck drivers or operators of pipelines that go outside of the refinery like the OMCC operators. Probably not applicable for most engineer positions.

You should ask your supervisor or HR rep.
