And remember…. Don’t forget to complete you We are ExxonMobil survey
Affected person here.. the way this company has handled the press is atrocious. “Less than 100 people impacted” they’re trying to play it off as we’re all being transferred to Houston. We also provide significant analytical support to the Sarnia Refinery and the refinery passed to its employees that they won’t be impacted at all. We are just a number. Don’t let work impact your personal life.
We are so integrated with XOM that we now getting rid of our own research.......we have no career progression in IOL beyond CL 27/28.
Don’t forget, you are just a number.
Don’t believe the company spin.
YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER

What a goof! You must belong to IOL’s dimwit management team or one of those discount offshore employees. The ironic part of what you have said is that at both Sarnia and Calgary labs there are high performers and yet they will be fired for only cost reduction. It has absolutely nothing to do with the inability to compete. Literally came from management’s mouth…”cost efficiencies”. Overly greedy capitalists, who care more about their shareholders than the employees who make their stock valuable.

You seem like an amateur who has never seen the real world outside of oil and gas. Just like Tesla Google MS Sony Samsung Honeywell Emerson... all offshore jobs, ExxonMobil finally came to its senses and started offshoring too. They are there to make profits, not create employment for you. If you don't like that go back in time to ussr or find a government job, IOL is not for you, it is for high performers who work hard and aren't afraid of competing on a global stage!!!
What a crying shame. Yet another example of how Imperial Oil is NOT a Canadian company. This decision is NOT in the best interest of Imperial Oil nor Canadians. And yet we all must live with it. Corporate separateness rules in Canada are a joke. Just look at IOL. You want to help IOL and Canadians? Write to your local MP about this and all the job offshoring (um yeah let’s run a mine with mining engineers outsourced because we’re too intellectually arrogant to embrace a new job family). We need new rules here. This problem is much bigger than just IOL. Exxon and others like them are using us as a farm and we are the livestock. Enough is enough. Stop pretending this makes any kind of financial or moral sense. Shame shame shame, Exxon Mobil and Imperial Oil MC.
So sad. End of an era for Sarnia research’s long history in Canada. I thought it was awful that the IOL MC didn’t send out a company-wide communication, just shows how tone deaf and disconnected they are to ESSO employees and their values.
