WFA with minimum 3 days at the office...

Someone really like to increase attrition...

Is our leadership stupid or what?

Constant whiplash for US based staff will continue till all but essential ELT members are left. Moving work and more decision making offshore is proving out to be the right direction. Sabre will rise from the ashes..

It's too late now. If you didn't already volunteer last week then you missed that boat. The next boat departing will be the USS-Layoff but someone else chooses who boards that one.

I hope everyone is happy with their choice, whatever it was.

The USS-VoluntarySeverance might circle back around to the US port again in a couple of years then some people who missed it this time will board then. It's unlikely to return though and, if it does, it is more likely to have been renamed to USS-EarlyRetirement.

It surprises me how many people don’t understand that this is a strategy to get people to leave. Take the package.
The year I took the package I made more money than EVER. I consulted and pulled salary for nearly a year. The I took a job making 40k more a year and 100% WFH.
This is when you reputation and networking pays off. If you are a good performer, there are jobs.

For real? I left the company recently for a much better paid (+80% salary increase), fully remote job somewhere else. Are your telling me Sabre ditches the WFA policy?

I hate to hear about the recent developments, y’all. I loved my time at Sabre, even though it was barely 15 months.

I implore all of you that don’t want to comply with hybrid to start looking for jobs right now. Those looking to take the voluntary layoff, please make sure you have enough in your bank accounts to last for quite a while. This job market is historically terrible.

Yeah. None of the open positions or career page boast wfa. It's now called 'flexible'. Following pursuit of other companies now

WFA is a policy, which can be changed at any time. We are guaranteed nothing more than minimum wage.

To get WFA-4 in Poland, currently you have to be outside of commutable distance (more than 3h) - and that covers pretty much half of the country. And get VP approval (manager is not enough). So yeah, good luck.

They already sold the building. They just rent it now.

@1mna+1soZ7fse - You’re assuming it will be a simple matter of requesting W-4 status. I’m sorrry but I very much doubt it will be that simple…

They aren't stupid.

They just want the US people gone.

US is expensive. Offshore is cheaper.

Take the Voluntary Severance package and be happy.

They want zero US employees, then fine I am gone!

There is no reason to complain. As stated in the message, those who would like to continue to work from home simply needs to reqeust change to WFA-4.

This is Sabre going full authoritarian. It was made clear by HR that WFA would be permanent. Sabre does not care about its employees, they are heavily invested in contractors who will work for them 12 hours a day without complaining.

Yep. If WFA is done end of Sep so am I. It seems that over a decade in Sabre is more than enough.

If we must work from the office more often than not, it’s no longer WFA. It becomes WFO (work from the office”. Period!

The People Team leader stated very clearly AFTER the pandemic that they would NOT change or remove WFA.
Now they want to get rid of employees without having to lay them off so they annouce this ridiculous “evolution” or “next generation” of WFA.

Welcome to “next generation” attrition!

WFA was just words that sounded good at the time. Mgmt decisions and rhetoric will change with the wind till new owners determine a sustainable course. Buckle up!!

  1. It is not WFA, but a regular policy in pre-covid.
  2. I don't think attrition is a problem. It might be a solution.

Well, you don't need to do layoffs when they'll take care of themselves.
