HR is only loyal to the company. Never trust HR. A friend just learned this lesson the hard way. Don't make his mistake and take your grievances to them. You'll only be putting a big, red target on your back.

Zoe is awesome and inspirational!!
@HR Trojan horse, you are completely clueless and unaware! But I’m sure you’re good at that too!
3M Human Resources. Not human. Not a resource.
HR today is sh1tty. no doubts about it
If a HR related issue is reported to Ethics and Compliance, an HR person on the ethics team will be assigned the issue. This fact should terrify you.
As someone who has used the ethics line, I can confirm that you cannot rely on the ethics team.
If the issue involves you or impacts you in anyway, forget it. You will not be supported. You will be found to be the issue or the ethics team will say they found no issues.
I know many people that have used the ethics team and it commonly ends with disappointment or retribution from leadership. Just do not take the risk with the ethics team.
Make your own documentation and record conversations. Then take the issue outside of 3M where 3M has less influence.
As someone who has used the ethics line I disagree. It works just fine. Hr on the other hand like audit, has a mandate to protect the company not people. They are the most people unfriendly depts in 3m and not to be trusted. With mo’s retirement, expect things to get worse. The new labor attorney is a total train wreck. The one who will replace her in hr investigation is also toxic.
The last specific post I saw on here (Regarding DK6) was quickly removed from the site ...
Have a side hustle and never disclose it. Stay away from social media and don't tell them anything. They make it sound like they know but they only look at 2 first pages of a google search. Corporate machines trained in colleges, no street wisdom. I love it!
25 years ago, what we now call HR, was truly an employee-centered organization. Long timers remember when 3M was ALWAYS on the Fortune Best Places to Work in the 1990s.
Enter James McNerney from GE where HR were the personal henchmen for the CEO. Promoting younger employees over better and more experienced older employees (3M was sued and had to settle age discrimination lawsuits related to sick sigma). Administering an age biased forced ranking system. HR lost its way and trust. It appeared Buckleys HR guy may have tried to return 3M to its old good ways, alas Inge came along and the house of cards fell down.
And yes never ever call the Ethics Line. You will be placed under observation and subjected to mental cruelty.
I remember when HR was know as the Personnel Department. They helped onboard new employees, get them set up for the right benefits, and assist with the hiring process (“assist,” not “own”). Now known as Human Resources, they get an undeserved seat at the leadership table and do everything EXCEPT assisting employees. They even have the gall to stick their nose deeply into the hiring process to bring in employees that aren’t the most qualified, but instead check a box they prioritize, not the business.
@1rze+1soXfksH
I was wondering how long it would be before someone from HR would show up. 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Found the plant circlej--kYou guys have anything specific you want to complain about, or is it all just general disgruntlement?
There is a reason that 3M did not tout being one of the most ethical companies in the world this year.
The reason is that 3M is not one of the most ethical companies in the world. 3M is not even an average ethical company.
3M unable to even buy this fake award that has been claimed every year for 10 years. Corrupt and not trustworthy. Absolute low for 3M and more lows coming. Be careful.
I was naive to think HR and/or 3M Ethics would enforce our Code of Conduct or, more importantly, the law.
I would love to find out how many reports HR and/or 3M Ethics receives each year about a toxic workplace, bullying, workplace harassment, s-xual harassment, discrimination and related issues. Then I would like to know the percentage of these complaints that get dismissed and if action is taken on any of the complaints. It would also be helpful to see which leaders are named in the complaints.
3M HR, Ethics & Compliance, and leadership all broken. Do not trust. Keep good records and make recordings. Next stop is outside attorney for litigation, whistle blow to government or report to media (all media has tip lines). No trust left and no loyalty earned.
Can’t report HR to ethics because they (hr)are the ones who answer the phone. Keep your own files. Lawyers love them.
Fu-k 3M HR. Took issues up from local HR to Corp HR and they just double downed on bad behavior and have been retaliating since. Bill Fu--ing Worthless Brown needs to clean house and start over. Also fu-k 3M.
HR exists to protect the company. It is not there to protect employees.
Took an ethics violation to HR and then HR let me go a week later, not the person who was an unethical J16.
FACTS!!!
3M HR will absolutely target you or look the other way when your supervisor targets you.
Who are you going to report them to ... the Ethics line... Haha as if 3M knows anything about Ethics.
