Haven't we effectively already done this? How many times to you hear people say that they only hear from their manager 2-3 times a year? Very often we don't have managers, we have individual contributors who happen to have people reporting to them.

This would help get things done a lot more efficiently at Cisco.
I or other ICs in my team quite often have to give presentations to my manager, the four or five that sit on the same level and then their manager.
Most often some get it, but 70% don’t. My manager’s manager then reports to their manager, who then reports to their manager.
That’s a lot of pointless middle men communication which undoubtedly gets lost in translation.
Bin them off and let’s start getting things done again.

We’d need a real board first.
