Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Now comes the predicted sales decline

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2024/05/02/ford-april-sales-decline-hybrid-sales-peak/73539182007/

It's going to be a rough year. I've seen some items predictng 10%+ sales drop for the year.

Not good.

@bei+1skgL5Wa you nailed it!. Just saw the Stellantis article thread. With the "inevitable" (only thusly so because of the Dems adhering to the insane green new deal) move to EVs, the only way to make money on them is to cut the cost of engineering by 2 thirds.

The good times are over... People don't have the money. Get ready for deals and inventory overflowing.

Sales drop, declining prices all point to lower profits.

Lower profits mean lower bonuses and more layoffs. And a doubling down on hiring in LCCs.

It's gonna be ugly.

Oh, come on.... please chill, it is only 10% decline, not 80%-90%, so it is no big deal.

I am surprised how this company doesn't shut its door yet
