Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Mari--ana and dr-g testing

It will be interesting to see if Chevron updates its policies to more in line with other states if Mari--ana is reclassified. It would make it federally legal in Texas under the existing medical mari--ana policies with a prescription.

Of course there will always be prohibitions about it, while working or any transportation role.

Cali here. Moderate to low THC + CBD. every day since 1/1/24. BIG positive life change.
Tested and passed. Boss super cool about it. Privacy almost fully protected, gave constructive feedback and was received respectfully.
If you've never used it regularly and responsibly with a healthy purpose, you don't know what you're talking about.

I know that when I get tested layoffs are around the corner. It is the only time I get tested. Saves from having to pay a severance. They have cause to ax you right then.

If you get selected to test and have partaken in some of the good stuff, remember to tell them that you are addicted to it. Legally, dr-g addiction is covered under the federal disabilities act and CVX has to put you in rehab. Of course afterwards you might have to find a job, but at least that minimum three months is good.

No, they still random office staff in Houston, I know first hand of 3 co-workers who were tested in the last 6 months.

In Houston random testing is still going on. It's fine to take a risk, but don't assume that just because it hasn't happened yet, it won't happen.

You do realize office personnel are not in safety sensitive positions right? Because they are not, they are not subject to random dr-g testing unless the company has cause.

I'm in Houston and haven't been dr-g tested since 2019.

@2hjn Though they could not test for it in Cali even with randoms. They were testing for other stuff

The code allows you to use it but your suppose to get approval first which I am sure they don’t grant.

1zlj+1sk29sXG: Last I looked we had random testing at the refinery. Not sure what you are talking about it not being allowed in California.

Chevron can ban it, even in California where random testing is not allowed for privacy concerns. Alcohol, last I checked, was legal in most states but try telling Chevron that when you are caught drunk on the job.

If this is your concern, you are probably one of those that need to leave soon…

Calif office workers already get to partake without issues.

Doubt it. It needs to be federally legal at all levels for CVX to leave it alone. They finally got around to testing most everyone postpandemic. Don’t get lax, it’s an easy way for them to axe you.
