Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

For the amount of people who are paid to monitor this website, maybe someone will see how awful your layoff process has been in addition to your hiring process. It’s absurd that a company like Medtronic thinks they can afford to spend three months hiring backfills from start to finish. I’ve heard from too many external candidates’ experience that there is no communication whatsoever after their second or third round of interviews. Even after finally receiving an official offer, other companies are sending offers much faster than MDT.

Sorry to burst your bubble but this is not a dream company people are willing to jeopardize other opportunities for by waiting FOR MONTHS. I was hoping MDT would treat prospective employees like myself better than current ones but it seems like people coming into the company are just valued liked everyone else - replaceable. Good luck trying to backfill and cross train all of the new employees willing to wait months… Better raise your low compensation ranges to account for these long wait times - YAWN.

There were many lies that my recruiter and hiring manager told me that never came true. Do you know what they say when someone leaves the company few months after they joined? They blame those people as not resilient enough.

Can you imagine being a MDT recruiter knowing what you are setting these people up for? Woof, I couldn't sleep at night.
