Thread regarding Suncor Energy Inc. layoffs

Business update - more layoffs?

Anyone think this will be more layoffs, divestments or cancellations?

I don’t know about the Suncor side of things but I heard from a well placed source that part of the call will focus on Petro-Canada achievements such as the Triangle/CTC partnership, network transformation and other things that are NOT selling it

The post by @bjpb+1sh8M9wY is probably from someone with a guaranteed job, a GM or director with 3 direct reports and only 7 people ‘managed’

Rich is probably going to announce he can save the company twice as much money if they let him lay off another 2000 people

This page is full of cry babies. Leave the company if you’re so scared you’ll be one of the ones let go.

Analysts suggest Suncor is carrying too much debt.

Layoffs and attrition have not realized the employee count reductions anticipated. Freddie needs to be seen by investors that he is making the company lean and mean. Divestments is the next order of business. MacKay River will be first on the block.
