Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

What are your thoughts on EMTECH's new Corporate Lab announcement?

NTU Singapore, ExxonMobil and A*STAR to spend about 40$ million US to stand a new lab for Low Carbin Solutions. I thought we were doing that in Annandale NJ?

Pretty sure the Clinton study (closure) announcement will happen before summer.

OP, the real answer's TOTALLY USELESS. This reminds me of Vijay S and his list of stupid decisions. I guess the VPs don't have any idea about how to use the dollars they're given to do real research that really improves the bottom line. Incompetent people with no experience or intellectual capacity being placed in positions of power because of a flawed ranking system. It's so sad that ExxonMobil has been reduced to a beggar looking for any scientists all over the world to see if anyone can do any research for the company in exchange for money. So so sad. ExxonMobil RIP.

It's a subsidized commodity company and nothing more.
R&D no longer a triple-tax refund anyhow.

Carbon capture won’t help my stock increase in value.

Dump the program and be an oil company.

Nothing to see here. Just a publicity stunt with no impact or relevance other than a yet additional opportunity for people to travel overseas business class.

I see it as another nail in the coffin for our other Corporate R&D facility (Annandale). Why have both do the research when one of them costs a fraction of the other?

I like that. On going reparations. That’s what has been going on since 21. The ridiculous bonus in 22’. Carbon capture , lithium. All to keep from the windfall tax of the regime. Not sure how to describe but the taking of the flags down at HQ was to me similar payment toward the other base of people.

Agree, the tiny R&D budget that EM allocates is an embarrassment.

$40M USD for a such a lab simply ain't d00dly-squat.
Publicity for EM on-going reparations for the climate what it is.
