When will managers decide who’s getting promoted? I think it’s called common judgement if I remember correctly

In my observation, the easiest way to get a promotion is to apply for another job.
Mid year promotions rarely happen and typically require extra approval of a SVP.
there are mid-year promotions too
Late August, early Sept I think. If your manager wants to get you promoted, they are probably already talking about it to their manager, but the calibration conversations and deciding who’s getting promoted happens at the end of performance year.
