Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Admit the mistakes, eliminate Model e and Ford Next

When a good business manager makes a mistake, they admit it and fix it.
The breakup into three divisions was supposed to highlight our profitable EV and software. It has actually exposed our weakness in both areas. Losing over $100k per EV sold is simply not sustainable, and since Gen 2 vehicles are on hold until they are profitable, we have no current need for all the Model e employees. Lay them off now to save capital.

Ford Next was supposed to come up with profitable new businesses. They have not had a single success despite wasting $3 billion per year. Lay these non performers off to save the $3 billion. Let new business ideas percolate naturally throughout the company.

Ford truck sales and profits are deteriorating, can’t carry the weight of all these non performers much longer, they drag down morale as much as they do profits.

Shut it down, save over $3 BILLION annually.
How is Stern justifying keeping this losing organization going?

Well, in the past two years “Canopy” has managed to accumulate 50 followers on X. Count ‘em…50. I doubt they have that many subscribers.

It’s too bad Ford Next didn’t come up with something like door dash that uses vehicles . Their market cap is bigger than Fords.
Shut it down, will never deliver a profitable or service.

I was hopeful when he was hired that Stern would fix this by shutting it down, but as soon as he started collecting the paycheck he lost the desire to eliminate any part of his new fiefdom. He could have been the one to help correct the path to profitability.

@low+1seKk5DI I don’t recall Farley ever being referred to as a “good CEO.”

Stern isn’t here to fix anything, just to collect a big paycheck and bail out as soon as his stock options vest (if they aren’t underwater—he’ll be gone sooner if they are).

Model e and the band of money wasters at Next need to go. They are dragging down everyone’s bonus.

Farley is grossly incompetent and his next job is living in a van down by the river. However, the true problem is, and continues to be Billy.

A good CEO would admit and correct mistakes. That isn’t Farley.
