And they stalk you. What a creepy company.

Sedgwick will either not send work comp checks or they will tell you to not cash them with some b.s. excuse. Work comp 101 you send checks and you cash them. 3M fraudsters.
Sedgwick use to be the claims administrator for 3M. They state that taking care of people is at the heart of everything they do. Do not be fooled, they will act like your friend when your issue is reported; however, they work with and for 3M, not for you. Be careful.
BTW, 3M does not have a great record or reputation. In November, 3M was slapped with two rare "willful" safety violations (OSHA), which are reserved for the most egregious infractions. I understand there was a settlement reducing the charges to 3 serious violations. No surprise that 3M did not accept responsibility.
Do not trust our company if you are injured. You are on your own and manage the situation carefully.
The complete lack of understanding of how workers comp insurance works really makes me wonder what our hiring standards are.
3M and their insurance companies work hand in hand. They tell you differently but they do. The only insurance fraud that happens is on their end.
Typically it is not the Company where you were injured that investigates. Usually it is the Workman Compensation Insurance company that hires investigators. They do not want to be making payments out to people.
Now 3M might not be even aware of the investigation, but will receive a report or notification if the injury claim is a fraud.
Again this would be a liability so, 3M(or any company) wants distance from the investigation.
My neighbor worked at STP tape plant and was hurt in the 1990’s. There were people trying to use my yard to catch him moving around to try to claim he was okay to go back to work. I always thought that was odd, but almost 30 years later, this sounds like it still happens- whoa!
Which still makes me wonder. What exactly happened at PDC when that woman employee was crushed in a machine? Did 3M even try to settle with her family or just do the Tireman thing and blame "unsafe" behaviors?
Careful talking with HR and benefits. They will try to prove you can return to work, do not need additional prescriptions or surgery, that you received the injury at home, that it was a preexisting condition, that the injury was your fault and other silly rabbit holes.
