Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Stopping whining and moaning and start working

Boston is growing 16% per quarter. Instead of whining , moaning, blaming and complaining about things, we need to start working and work on our goals and put others upto task. We need to do more with less.

Before blaming others, we need to look at ourselves in the mirror .When you point a finger at others, 3 are pointed towards you. There are so many slackers in this company

If you're one of these fu--ing id--ts who think this is because of anything other than sh---y leadership, fiduciary responsibility, and shareholder capitalism, then you're working double time for free. Stand up for your fellow worker, not the billionaires who don't know you or care if you live or die.
You don't own the company, you are a worker. Show some solidarity you clown.

I find it humorous when people speak up and suggest that people should "get back to work" on these posts. Surprised there is ANYONE that is still drinking the kool-aid that the leadership team is dishing out. This company stopped being the Medtronic of old and became the albatross that it is today. Boston Sci has faced the same pandemic and raw material issues that Medtronic has. But with Medtronic it comes back on the employees as being the reason for the struggles. Wise up people, I know many dedicated, hard-working people that were let go for no other reason than they are older and make more money. With the cut people went the history and culture. I don't see this company coming back. The Medtronic Mindset are now just empty words and the tenants are long forgotten and just buzzwords now.

16% growth for a developing software business isn't too crazy in that facet of industry. To expect same sort of growth from mature markets is a little naive.

It’s the C level leadership that is driving the market size, not the hard working employees who take on more work after their colleagues have been laid off. Medtronic makes it hard to get things done. Don’t conflate market size with anything other than the (lack of) strategy at the C level. There are a lot of good, hard working people who are trying - AND they’re also tired of the lack of strategic direction, so they come here to vent. That’s okay and doesn’t mean they’re slackers. Eyeroll.

Message transmission incoming: Your company has widespread product backorders. Reps are held to quotas they cannot hit as a result. Your company places more importance on diversity and inclusion than patient health. You love the CCP. You make politically woke comments on social media. Your best people are leaving. Medtronic is a den of mediocrity. It is a losing company and will remain so.

“ Reduce inventory” I heard that the day Dictator/looser Omar joined MDT in early 2011 and you’re still taking about this? He was in mdt for almost decade, anytime left to clawback his bonuses?

It’s got absolutely nothing to do with us moving most R&D $ into the lowest return on investment BUs. That is strategic!

Our goal is to lower market cap to become more nimble. Reduce market share to focus on what matters. Reduce inventory, so that our customers can have an easier choice of competitor products to choose from.

By not making decisions we are simplifying the decision making process.

Only the smooth brains think of all this hard work as slacking off.

Middle management is the weak link in the organization. Middle management needs to role up its sleeves with the working class and become part of the solution not the problem. Medtronic has all these well worded ideals that are not followed

Should remove the chairs at work. Only slackers sit.

Need longer meetings. No one is absorbing our strategic PowerPoints.
