Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Town Hall - Come on down and buy a new Copier

This townhall is a joke. Steve talks about how this is the biggest change in the history of the company. What changed besides firing people? They have done this business unit chess 100 times over. Nothing has been done except for firing people.

Where are the new services? New offerings? Where is the modernization to the infrastructure? Nothing and I mean nothing has been done. 6GS / VQ is still a nightmare and all they have done for years is repackage some old solution and give it a new name. Where is the simplification? Where is the automation? HCL will help us continue to lose all of our customers. Instead of automating we'll just outsource more to cheap labor.

They literally turn the camera on the used copier salesman himself John Bruno. What's his message? Not services, not reinvention... come on down to Xerox and sell more copiers and take market share from the bad guys. Maybe he should have worn a white suit and cowboy hat.

The message today was ESR. Sell Copiers until we go bankrupt.

This is not reinvention...

"Xerox needs to get back to local customer facing, break HCL contract."

That ship has sailed. Can't afford to at this point.

I focus solely on the facsimile option, “Hey, I know nobody faxes anymore… but imagine if you had this box in 1997? You’d be getting faxes at 70 pages per minute! Your workflow productivity increase would have been like 1500% - Based on that return your investment as per my lean six sigma chart should be hmmm…$150,000 usd.”

Tell us what to fix.
“How about bring back Contracts, AR, billing, customer service and service delivery to the U.S. again.”

Probably the very best thing they could do to improve the company performance. It so freekin’ obvious!
But they wont do it UB, Jacobson, JohnV and Baldy have all addicted to off shore outsourcing and can’t admit how F’ed up it is.

Yep, take ownership, let us know when there is a problem. Sell some copiers and if a process is broken let us know and we can work to fix it. Yea, okay J.B. can't fix stupid. How about bring back Contracts, AR, billing, customer service and service delivery to the U.S. again. Can't please the street if you are in Chapter 11.

If its blah blah blah where's the proof? We are looking at Vaporware. Other than fire a ton of people and bring in new guys who make $1M+ per year to set up an office to reinvent "stuff" what has been done? Zero

What are they doing to automate and simplify doing business with Xerox?
What are they doing to stop customers from leaving because we are a nightmare to work with?
What have they done to streamline systems to get a proposal to customers? Manage order fulfillment, streamline operations and delivery? Manage Contracts? Billing? Account Administration? SOW's?

What about comp plans that drive behavior? We want Sales Teams to sell Services and Software but we have an entire organization that refuses to pay people on Services and Software. The today with JB the proof of what this is all really about... Sell Copiers! Focus on ESR. [insert surprised face here]

Xerox doesn't have the courage to reinvent itself.

This is a legacy business that is still a bit of a cash cow - they can't pivot well. If they do anything it will happen at tortoise speed.

It was like this when I was there until a few years ago - you just have to accept there is nothing that will turn this into growth machine of years ago and just tick off days or leave. I'm afraid selling tin/ESR is still the big play and constant "productivity"....

Really sorry but that's just the fact of it.

Results su-k because HCL, service, billing and AI frustrating customers trying to get work done. The decisions they made to save a buck, are now costing millions in revenue and customer loyalty. Fire the crew, sell all the lifeboats and wonder why we can sell everyone cruise tickets. They'll still pat each other on the back as they steer Xerox into the iceberg. Just can't imagine investors are this clueless.... ?

Agree!!!
More Rah, Rah, Rah from SB, JB, and LP reading scripts with no meat. Million Dollar men, we can get the same performance from young 20-30yr old fresh MBA students at 10th the and more creativity. How do you fix a problem with old dull tools? Nothing new.

It’s like us 1000s of folks on call are not trying to make this company successful. Turn those video cameras around and realize it’s you SB, JB, and now LP who need to stop we all see you!!!!

Results su-ked, because there is no strategy, vision, or real invention at the top. Same tired item
