Thread regarding UPS layoffs

Is another round of VSAPs coming?

Last year around this time they had their “people meetings “, and shortly after they offered VSAPs. Well here we are again on the day of 1st Q earnings, and more people meetings on the schedule. Are we doing this again after the 10,000 just got let go??

AI is nibbling at jobs that are not physical work like management. Good time to consider becoming a driver or local sorter.

I had thought the 12K+ had already been notified if they were being let go, but a manager in my building (on ops) was just told last Friday that he was being let go. So how many more are on the chopping block and don't know it yet??

If management has no union protection, then there is no obligation to offer buyouts or severance. However, the trick most companies pull is throw exiting management a little $bone$ and they will be foolish enough to sign away any and all rights for future use (mgmt holds info.). This is why you should never sign anything without professional advise first. "Recourse rights sold for a nickel".

I am sure they will offer buyouts to non operations management employees again. What UPS should do is offer buyouts to management 55 and older in operations. In Canada, buyouts have to give employees 2 years severance pay.
