Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Not a good place to work

I strongly discourage considering employment at Hertz. Job stability is virtually non-existent, often leading to layoffs within just a few months of hiring. The company's treatment of employees, except for executives, is notably lacking. Morale is consistently low, and there appears to be no effort by the COO or Chief HR Officer to address or improve it. For young professionals embarking on their careers, it's advisable to steer clear of this volatile company as it's more likely to cause you hardship and setbacks.

Yep. Seen it happen too. Hertz can't keep employees either. Grind their employees into the ground to make 'profit' and burn many of them out at the sales end and the cleaning side too. Summertime, Hertz hires 'temps' at $20+ an hour to clean/move automobiles.
For years I've read of/seen junior managers just getting burned out because of the constant same complaints - no vehicles at reservation time, dirty vehicles, hidden cost of extras, personnel issues, 60+ hours a week with no help - and the Corporate Office are playing 'team building' games, planting trees for the environment, etc etc. It's a job that's it. Don't expect a career. It's the working level people you work with that make 'workers' come back to work.

100%. Over the last 12-15 years this company has had a MASSIVE decline across the board. I would never bring anyone I care about on board to this company.
