SAP team approaching 200 bodies

Sounds like the team of “IT Specialists” and “Analysts” for the SAP S/4 HANA version is approaching 200 staff, with ongoing hiring! All making healthy 6-figure salaries I’m sure! Imagine what we could do with another team of 200 Subsurface Professionals creating actual value???

SAP is capable but requires a lot of maintenance, its super expensive and mandates more contractors (hence extra cost) to maintain it. Cenovus needs to invest and pay for to help employees to get training and required licenses. Contractors with "SAP" on their resume but no licenses must be terminated. Annual SAP cost must be evaluated otherwise it will drag company's performance down.

SAP is a money su-king system. Even more, if not managed properly like here. Look at CNRL, they work with JDE and their stock is the best performer.

The problem is IT leaders do not have SAP experience and lack of basic business knowledge so it is easy for consultants to take advantage of the available budget.
