Q3 earnings expectations

What are the Q3 earnings expectations? With splunk acquisition and money committed to LRs around 800mil, I cannot expect a positive earnings. Are we looking at layoffs announcements the day of or after ?

How do recovered RSUs from jettisoned senior talent in this latest round impact the numbers? Is it enough to be a needle mover? Should I sell my stock now or hold until the next LR?

Not sure about the numbers. We have to see what comes out as this year’s prime Cisco fiction after the financial folks are done fudging them. However, if the forecast to Wall St were made based on the goals we got in sales, then there is no way they can hit the numbers because the goals are unrealistic.

But either way, yes, layoffs will be announced around mid-May. No way Cisco can Disco around what’s coming. New LRs , not the ones from Feb, just to confuse the employees. “Is this the same LR or is this a new LR?”. Starting to sound like an Austin Powers film. The SE management in the U.K. already asked for names from managers as far back as Feb. Meetings held from SJ about numbers to cut.

All the best to everyone. Not the right time to look for a job now, but encourage people to update their CVs. Especially if you are technically oriented with up-to-dated skillsets in AI/ML/DS/Security. The technically superior folks are the ones who have always been traditionally targeted by Cisco for LRs while they prefer to retain the useless SEDs and managers to warm the chairs and click on excel sheets.

And remember: “Change is the only constant!” For once I’d like to see a change in the parasitic, self-preserving cohort among the SEDs and general management layers who contribute nothing towards revenue generation but feed on the profit margin.

Despite the widespread layoffs at this current time, there are jobs around for people with skills in the above areas and also business acumen in the same. Just business acumen or just technical skills may not give positive job search results for experienced people - might work for folks younger in career. Job market is very competitive right now.
