Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Sizing the Impact

How big have the layoffs been? Guessing the last month or two has been really big and estimate 20% of the employees impacted. Does anyone have accurate numbers? Not that it has any value other than illustrating how heartless and cold the company has become.

50% seems too low at this point

Expecting to lose 50-70% of the workforce in no gcc countries in 2024.

The offshoring will continue for years. Not familiar with labor laws but as long as companies can layoff U.S. employees and hire employees in India or Mexico they, have no reason to keep jobs in the U. S..

My dept and at least 5 others I know of have been entirely or 90% offshored in the past 3 months, but on the whole, it's hard to tell how many. I see a lot of inactive names in the BRGs I'm in and a lot less activity.

Whatever the exact number, this company is circling the drain.

I think you are asking the wrong question. It does not matter what have been done so far but what is still to be done!

IMO, they are still trying to put together the GCCs, eventually everyone will be replaced, it is just a matter of when (just go into nielsen careers site and look for yourself how heavily they are still hiring in India).

If you are young and you still have a career in front of you, start looking for a new job and leave as soon as you can, this company has no longer any credibility and management (they calle it leadership) is the worst I have ever seen in my entire career.
